We were recently called to a local school following reports of a serious escape of water in one of the storage rooms, caused by a toilet located directly above. Unfortunately, the toilet’s piping system had separated, leading to foul sewage water flooding onto the ceiling of the store room. This caused the ceiling to collapse, spilling contaminated water onto the storage area and its contents.
Given the urgency of the situation, we were able to arrive within the hour and get to work immediately. The first priority was to safely remove the debris, sewage, and any affected materials from the area, ensuring the health and safety of everyone on site. With the room cleared, we then began our meticulous sanitisation process, treating the area to eliminate any risk of bacterial or pathogen-related illnesses.
Next, we conducted a four-stage mould remediation to ensure the space was thoroughly treated, addressing all potential microbial growth concerns. Finally, we installed drying equipment to get the room back to its pre-incident condition as quickly as possible, ensuring the kids could safely return to their educational activities without further disruption.
Our fast, efficient response meant that the school was able to continue its daily operations without delay, and the staff and students were kept safe from any further contamination or health risks.
Another example of why time is critical in cases like this and why you need a professional team who can act quickly and thoroughly to restore safety and functionality in a space.
