I was recently called out to conduct a damp survey on a property suffering from high internal moisture levels, caused by a multitude of exterior defects. These issues had been left unmaintained for a long period of time, allowing moisture penetration from all angles into the building. Unfortunately, this was not great news for the homeowner, as the extent of the damage was far-reaching.

Upon closer inspection, I identified multiple points of moisture ingress from the exterior that had been neglected over time—things like cracked render, blocked drainage and displaced flashing around the roof were allowing water to seep in, creating the ideal conditions for dampness inside the property, and ultimately leading to more severe issues like mould growth and structural damage.

While this situation may seem overwhelming for the homeowner, the silver lining is that they now have critical information and expert advice to move forward and fix the problem.

Our Approach:

🔎 Damp Assessment: We thoroughly assessed the internal and external condition of the property.

🏚 Identified Exterior Defects: We pinpointed the neglected areas responsible for moisture infiltration.

📝 Expert Advice & Solutions: We provided the homeowner with tailored recommendations on how to repair exterior defects and manage moisture issues effectively.

This case is another prime example of why regular property maintenance is key to avoiding expensive and prolonged problems down the line. Early intervention can save homeowners from bigger, more costly issues in the future.

Now, with the right guidance and a clear plan, this homeowner is well-equipped to address the defects and restore their home to its former condition. Another satisfied customer ready to tackle their property issues head-on! 💪
